Welcome to Piss Easy Vegan Pressure Cooker. My name is Vinnie, and I am not a good cook.
Food is an amazing thing. It fuels us, it brings us together socially, and is a gateway to explore different cultures. But in our modern society, eating healthily and cheaply often feels out of reach, only adding to our struggles with time management, health and budgeting.
For years I have struggled to get into a good routine with cooking, finding it to be a burden that left me paying too much money for takeaway, making low-quality and unhealthy meals, or following recipes that looked easy at first glance but then took hours to make.
I’m not going to screw you around getting you to buy a new spice you’ll only ever use once, tell you my family’s life story for Google SEO, or spend hours fussing over the garnishes needed for the presentation of the meal. This website is for those who want to cook FAST, EASILY, CHEAPLY, ETHICALLY AND HEALTHILY.
I’ve been through many kitchen gadgets that promise to make things easier, but after a brief fling they all seem to end up relegated to the back of the cupboard, to eventually be donated. The golden ticket that finally changed it all was the impulse purchase of an electric pressure cooker (also commonly known as an Instant Pot, the household brand name).
It’s at this point I COMMIT to you that I am not trying to sell you anything or profit off product recommendations. I don’t care what electric pressure cooker you use; they’re all very similar. You can expect to pay anywhere between $80 – $200AUD. Speaking as someone who is particularly stingy, I cannot stress how worthwhile of an investment this is. It’ll pay for itself.
Pressure cookers use high pressure steam to cook food absurdly fast, resulting in meals that are tender and flavourful as though they were slow cooked for hours, and does not require any monitoring or stirring, allowing you to walk away and do other stuff while it does its work. Unlike the traditional horror stories of stovetop pressure cookers exploding and causing harm, modern electric pressure cookers have tonnes of safety features built in, relieving anxiety.
I am sharing this information because I am someone who is extrinsically motivated, and wants to help other people. I’ve never found enjoyment from cooking for myself – I like to share, and in this instance, want to experiment and trial+error recipes to share with you in a way that is easy to follow.
I encourage you to rate/comment on my recipes if you’ve found anything that could be improved, or a different ingredient ratio that tickles your fancy. Let’s collaborate to make recipes that are super healthy, super tasty, super cheap (auto) and above all else, PISS EASY!
